On February 2, the first village collective economic dividend distribution meeting and a village gala were held at Taoxing Village, Shipai Town, Longshan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, to welcome the arrival of the Spring Festival.
In 2023, Taoxing Village’s collective economic income reached 500,000 yuan, with materials worth approximately 80,000 yuan distributed, benefiting 515 households in the village. The remaining funds will be used for the development of the village’s shiitake mushroom industry in the coming year.
“I receive living materials worth over 100 yuan. I hope that our village will develop better year by year,” said a 43-year-old villager.
In recent years, Shipai Town has continued efforts to explore new ways to develop the village collective economy.
Taoxing Village has developed the shiitake mushroom cultivation industry based on its own resource advantages. With the strong support of Yuhua District in Changsha City, the production of shiitake mushroom sticks has been automated. At present, the planting base has 150 shiitake mushroom production greenhouses and 3 automated mushroom stick production lines. The base has provided jobs for more than 500 people.
After the dividend distribution meeting, the village gala was more wonderful. Self-organized colorful artistic performances like dances and songs were staged in turns, showcasing their love and longing for a better life, winning continuous cheers and applause from the audience.
